Bread Pudding Pie

Ingredients Dough for single-crust pie 1 cup cubed bread 2 large eggs 2 cups 2% milk

3/4 cup sugar 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 2 teaspoons butter

Directions Preheat oven to 425°. Roll dough into a 1/8-inch circle on a lightly floured surface and place in a 9-inch pie pan. Cut crust 1/2 in. beyond plate rim; flute edge.

Place bread in pie crust. Whisk eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla in a large basin; pour over bread. Add nutmeg and butter. Bake 10 minutes. Turn down oven to 350°.

Bake until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, 45-50 minutes more. Avoid overbrowning by loosely foiling the edge in the last 15 minutes. Remove foil. Cool 1 hour on wire rack. Serve after 3 hours of refrigeration.
