Purple Plum Pie

Ingredients: – 6 cups sliced purple plums (about 2 pounds) – 3/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust according to the sweetness of your plums) – 1/4 cup all-purpose flour or cornstarch – 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg – 1 tablespoon lemon juice – 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small piece – 1 double pie crust (homemade or store-bought)

Instructions: 1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). 2. In a large mixing bowl, combine sliced plums, sugar, flour or cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss until the plums are evenly coated.

1. Roll out half of the pie crust and line a 9-inch pie dish with it. Trim the excess dough around the edges. 2. Pour the plum filling into the prepared pie crust. Dot the top of the filling with pieces of butter.

Roll out the remaining pie crust and place it over the filling. You can either make a lattice crust or simply cover the pie with the entire crust, sealing the edges by crimping them with a fork or your fingers.

1. Optionally, you can brush the top crust with milk or beaten egg for a golden finish. 2. Place the pie on a baking sheet to catch any drips, and bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 55 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.

Once baked, allow the pie to cool on a wire rack for at least 1 hour before serving. This allows the filling to set.

1. Serve slices of purple plum pie on their own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for a delicious dessert! Enjoy your homemade purple plum pie!
